100% Grade 6A Mulberry Silk
Mulberry Silk Pillowcases
for Hair and Skin
Crafted in 22 momme and 30 momme. Gentle on your hair, kinder to your skin, every night.
Why a Mulberry Silk Pillowcase?
A mulberry silk pillowcase is not just a luxury upgrade. It is one of the most practical changes you can make to your night-time routine. Unlike cotton, which creates friction and draws moisture from your skin and hair, a pure silk pillowcase lets hair glide smoothly across the surface. The result: fewer breakage points, less frizz and less sleep crease on your skin by morning.
At Lunelle Silk, we use 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk, the highest grade available, in two momme weights. Our 22 momme pillowcase is lightweight and breathable, perfect for everyday use. The 30 momme pillowcase is a heavier, more durable weave with a richer feel, and our most popular choice for hair protection.
Both are available in five colours: White, Pink, Dark Grey, Silver and Indigo. Free UK delivery on all orders.

Frequently asked questions
A mulberry silk pillowcase is a pillowcase made from silk produced by Bombyx mori silkworms fed exclusively on mulberry leaves. This controlled diet produces a finer, smoother and more uniform fibre than wild silk. Mulberry silk is the highest quality silk available and is graded by purity, with Grade 6A being the finest. At Lunelle Silk, every pillowcase is made from 100% Grade 6A mulberry silk.
Yes. A silk pillowcase reduces the friction your hair experiences overnight compared to cotton. Less friction means fewer breakage points, reduced frizz and fewer tangles by morning. Silk also does not absorb moisture the way cotton does, so your hair retains more of its natural oils and any treatments applied before bed.
Momme (mm) is the weight measurement for silk fabric. A 22 momme pillowcase is lighter and more breathable, well suited to year-round use. A 30 momme pillowcase is heavier and more durable, with a more substantial hand feel. Both grades are 100% mulberry silk. The higher momme does not mean better quality, it means more silk per square metre, giving a denser, richer weave.
Silk pillowcases are gentler on skin than cotton because silk creates less friction and does not absorb moisture. This means your skin retains more hydration overnight and is less likely to show sleep lines by morning. Dermatologists often recommend silk or satin pillowcases for people with sensitive skin or those prone to irritation.
Wash on a cool gentle cycle (30 degrees or below) using a specialist silk detergent or a small amount of gentle shampoo. Do not tumble dry. Lay flat or hang to dry away from direct sunlight. Iron on a low silk setting if needed, or smooth by hand while still slightly damp. Proper care extends the life of your pillowcase significantly.
