The Cleveland Clinic points to silk and satin as gentler at the skin level than rougher fabrics. If bleaching or its chemical aftermath is causing sensitivity or irritation at the hairline or nape, a lower-friction, smoother fabric surface may reduce the contact-based aggravation. It does not address the chemical sensitivity from the bleach process itself.
